The North London Psychotherapy Centre was set up by Lisa Daitz in 2010. Lisa is an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), and has extensive clinical experience offering counselling and psychotherapy to adults and adolescents across a range of issues, including stress, anxiety and depression, bereavement, relationships and trauma. She holds a Masters Degree and PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and an Honours Degree in Psychology. She also holds qualifications in EMDR, CBT, Coaching and Mentoring. Before establishing the Centre, Lisa worked within an NHS setting and, as well as private practice, works with clients of a national women's aid charity affected by domestic violence, and with the Victim Support Homicide Team. Lisa Daitz practises existential-phenomenological psychotherapy, whilst integrating humanistic, Freudian and Jungian concepts into her work. She also provides one-to-one and group supervision in person and online. Before beginning her professional training, Lisa spent twenty-five years in the marketing sector, latterly as the Managing Director of a Communications Company.
Lisa Daitz - Lead Psychotherapist
Existential Psychotherapy is a philosophically-based, yet down-to-earth approach. Its emphasis is on working together to understand your own philosophy and how you make sense of your life and its meaning. Within this are the values, assumptions and attitudes, all of which inform the way that difficulties and issues are understood. As we become more aware of the way we live our lives, we open up choices and the potential for the future. Through greater self awareness we have the ability to make the changes necessary to manage life in a more fulfilling way.
Counselling and psychotherapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be heard with sensitivity and empathy. Thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely, in confidence and without judgement. A strong therapeutic relationship allows you to explore the issues that are preventing you from living the best life you can live.
Anxiety and panic attacks; depression or trauma, loss and bereavement; relationship issues and life transitions - we can all face difficulties in our lives. We offer short-term or long-term therapy with an approach that challenges attitudes and assumptions, yet through the process we always recognise and respect the uniqueness of our clients. We offer a safe, warm and accepting environment in which to make better sense of problems and explore difficult feelings.
Therapy enables insight into the difficulties you are facing and your responses to them. Better understanding allows you to see choices and with choice comes the opportunity to bring about changes.
